Website switch: why we did it

Hello world!

As you may or may not know, prior to today, thevisualCollective.com was hosted on a tumblr blog.
You may also recall that just a few days ago, Flagstaff Live published an article about tvC.

We believe that a large traffic increase to our site, likely caused by the article, lead Tumblr to either shut down the site or to throttle our traffic significantly - to the point where many people trying to gain access got nothing but an error from their browser.

Perhaps this is something we should have anticipated. Unfortunately, we didn't have any idea how much interest we would get, and we didn't know tumblr's limitations.

As soon as thevisualCollective.com went down last night, we hurriedly put a few finishing touches on a site we had been building as a replacement (great timing) and pushed "Publish." That's the site you're on now.

True, it isn't quite finished. We don't yet have our merchandise or our shopping cart available. Rest assured that these features will both come online inside the next two weeks, AND that we will make a great amount of internet noise when that happens. Until then, please find us on Facebook, Flickr, YouTube and Twitter.

Cheers!
