Request: Best of 2011

Photographers, models, poets, singers, videographers, painters, drawers, sculptors, musicians, designers and creatives from all walks of life:

This post is a challenge to you.

All of you.

Go back through all of your creative works from the last year. If you use a rating system, go through those that *almost* made your portfolio-cut, or those that were the best from each "shoot" or "sesh" or whatever.

Compile a blog post, a Flickr "set," or a YouTube "playlist" to show off your Best of 2011.

Leave us a link on Facebook or below in the comments. We want to see.

This sort of exercise serves two purposes for you

1) It allows you to see where you have made progress in the last year, and provides an opportunity for introspection and learning. What have you gotten better at? When was a period of time that you made amazing art? What events pushed or pulled you to make art in that period? When did you experience a "slump" or lull in creativity? What was happening in your life at that time?

2) It provides a forum for your peers and potential clients to see what you are capable of, what you experimented with, and how you grew as an artist in the last year.

thevisualCollective is about learning, growing, and creating a community. The best way for us to do that is to share our creativity with others.

Matt and Taylor have both already compiled their lists, available by clicking on the photographs below.

Your turn!

Ready, GO!
